5 travel apps

Being organised is key when it comes to having a stress-free holiday/vacation. Before I get on the plane or in the car I always grab my phone and use my 5 favourite travel apps to help plan my boujee gateway. Using these travel apps gives you an opportunity to plan ahead and book advanced places. Some even offer discounts on excursions if booked via the specific app. Having this resource allows you to reach your required level of boujee for your trip away!

Using Travel Apps as a Guide

Wanderlog

I have a separate section in this blog where I show you this travel app in full use. I used it for the first time when I was planning a trip to Dundee for someone.

Wanderlog is one of my favourite apps to use to help plan things to do while I am away. The app is available on pc/mac and available to download to your mobile phone. Using Wanderlog allows you to get familiar with the tourist spots like landmarks and places to eat.

Wanderlog allows you to make an itinerary for each day you are at your destination. It helps with setting a budget and is very user-friendly. The app is community based with reviews from other users to help with your travel decisions. There is a lot you can do using the FREE version including adding your flight and hotel details and making notes. Pin places you want to visit and use the map to follow your set route. Once you have prepared your itinerary you can share it with your travel buddies or if you are going solo, you can upload it onto the app as a “guide” for other Wanderlog users to refer to.

I love using this app because it gives me inspiration for my travel plans and it is extremely easy to use.

The Travel Apps for Foodies

TheFork

When I leave the UK I always wonder if the destination has UberEats or other food delivery apps. But one afternoon in Sardinia while searching, I came across TheFork. TheFork app is the gift that keeps on giving. Restaurants that use this app offer discounts on your meal!

The restaurants on TheFork are rated by the user. There are highly-rated restaurants available. To receive a discount you need to book at the required time slot. The app also offers a facility to pay via the app. You can also earn Yums to get more discounts on future meals.

Yes, you can still be boujee using this app. I wrote about an amazing meal we had in Marseille, and you will see the quality of the cuisine. Remember, I am the queen of boujee so having this type of app makes me able to sit and enjoy my plate of lush food without breaking the bank account!

Excursions on Land or Sea Travel Apps

Get Your Guide

This travel app is great for booking tours ahead of your journey. There are loads of different excursions for all budgets and tastes. The Get Your Guide excursions are available via mobile apps and via a website on desktops/laptops. I have had a problem with one of my bookings in the past and it was pretty straightforward reaching their customer service to resolve it!

Viator

Viator is another great app for booking excursions. You will find that it is very similar to Get Your Guide. A lot of the excursions have a pay later option or cancel free (by a specific date) option. This is great for times when you are trying to make sure you can fit all your plans in and any changes that may occur.

Trip Advisor

Trip Advisor is another app/website that you can use with planning excursions, and book airport transfers, and meals in your destination country. I noticed that there is an affiliation with the Viator app. This gave me reassurance that there was a way to link it back to a reputable company. Trip Advisor is similar to Wanderlog in terms of community-built ratings. You can ask questions and get unbiased information on things you want to add to your itinerary.

The Travel Apps in Use

I use these travel apps for all of my excursions, getaways and to build guides. So there is an absolute guarantee that you will see more detailed examples within my blog website. Having access to this vital information helps when I want to budget ahead for a boujee trip and helps me cater to my travelling companions. Doing this means that the time away is stress-free and doesn’t get boring. I hope you find these apps as useful as I have.

Own your inner boujee…it’s ok to like nice things, you just have to make it work!
